One Year Married. I can hardly believe it! We celebrated our first wedding anniversary yesterday and it was such a lovely day, with nothing major on the agenda (a first for us). I spent a lot of time reminiscing on what we were doing at that time, just one year ago, and I probably drove the Mister crazy just a little bit, but that’s nothing new.
Our wedding day really truly was such an amazing, wonderful, lovely day, that truly went by in such a flash. Everyone tells you how fast it goes — and it really, really does.
Good thing we have the most amazing wedding photos so I can re-live the day with just a few clicks on a computer, or flipping through our album.
Our first year was a pretty good year if I do say so myself. We were also told the first year is the toughest, which I really didn’t find to be that way. And, if it was in fact the toughest, then I’m looking forward to the many years ahead. I know we’ll have our ups and downs and life can just be hard at times, but I really am lucky I found someone who makes those ups and downs just a little bit better.
We stuck to the traditional theme for gifts — Paper. And, coincidentally, we both got each other two gifts: one heartfelt/sappy, and one fun. I got him a photo book highlighting our first married year, and incorporated the lyrics to our first dance, the reading at our wedding, our vows, and the ring exchange.
I also got him season tickets to the 2015 Padres Season! So excited for those games next year.
He got our vows printed up on a canvas, and got me a Kindle Paper White since I’ve been doing a lot more reading lately. Pretty good first anniversary!
We also spent the day lounging around — started off with some wedding cake and champagne (can’t go wrong there), enjoyed some local beer while watching the Chargers WIN (yay!) and ended with a delicious dinner at Richard Blais’ Juniper and Ivy. Yum!
I’ll leave you now with some highlights from our first married year — like I said, it was a good one! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for year numero dos!
